Hidden Gem comes to BMC

(2/3/2011)

Peebles, Ohio; It’s February, a new year and time for Racetracks across the Nation to announce their schedule of events for the upcoming season. Brushcreek Motorsports Complex is no different. What is different here at Brushcreek is the announcement of Steven Partin’s Hidden Gem! The Hidden Gem is a Super Late Model race paying $10,000 to win and $700 to start. The event is the brain child of 13-year-old Steven Partin who is a student at Peebles Middle School and son of BMC owner Tom Partin. Steven has grown up at the racetrack and is a racer himself starting out in Go Karts and has competed in Legend Cars the last three seasons.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday July 6th, the week of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at the Kentucky Motor Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky for the first time and is about 1 hour and 45 minutes away.  BMC is also racing UMP Modifieds for $750 to win and $150 to start. Brushcreek picked this date because. All profits (if any) will go to a college fund which will be split between Steven’s college and a college fund that others (drivers, team members etc) will be able to apply for, said Steven. Then he added, “We hope to some time in the future give away a Scholarship to a Young Local dirt racer!”

Steven found out some of the obstacles that a promoter faces. He explained, “The First idea for this race was to contact Austin Dillon (Driver of the #3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series) and see if he could bring some of his NASCAR Friends to Brushcreek Motorsports but it did not take long to figure out that it would take large sums of money to bring NASCAR drivers so the next idea was a Lucas Oil Late Model series race but they were booked solid so what we came up with is $10,000 to win $700 to start and also paying $700 show up money to the top 10 in Lucas Oil Late Models, World of Outlaws Late Models, ARCA Remax Series, and any of NASCAR’s Top three Series!” The Partin’s are hopeful that is will help draw many of Dirt Late Model Racings top stars and who knows maybe a few NASCAR drivers who have their own Dirt cars as well.

Steven’s Dad Tom Partin owns Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles Ohio was quick to point out this is his Son’s race to promote and that he is backing his plan but pointed out that this is no free ride! "He has to go out get sponsors and call drivers on his own" said Tom. Then Steven added, “I’m hoping to get sponsors to pay off a majority of the purse. I am also going to sell shirts to help pay the purse off. Any money made will go straight to the college fund”.

The Track is searching for Sponsor’s and anyone can sponsor a Position or a Lap!

Lap Sponsors are $100 for Laps 1, 25, or 50. The other laps are $50. Lap Sponsors get listed on the tracks and events web site, Facebook Page, and get announced at the race!

Position Sponsor prices are the same amount of money that the driver receives for finishing in that spot. If you sponsor the #1 spot which is $10,000 you get to be the Title sponsor. We are selling positions for the Late Models and UMP Modifieds. Position sponsors have the right to one sign in the infield all season at BMC but have to provide the sign.
