Cool, fast cars, indeed! In fact, they’re the coolest, fastest cars you’ll find anywhere in the world. That’s because ever since the first pair of cars raced down the famous ¼ mile drag strip in July of 1965, Raceway Park, the premier New Jersey motorsports park, has represented the ultimate in speed, power, and performance for top drivers, racing teams, and racing enthusiasts the world over.

It all started when Vincent and Louis Napp, along with Vincent's sons, Vincent Jr. and Richard, had a vision to introduce major league drag racing to the New York Metropolitan area. After an exhaustive search for the ideal location, they chose a 308-acre farm in the scenic countryside of Madison Township, New Jersey (now known as Old Bridge Township), on which to erect their racing surface, timing tower, grandstands, and refreshment facilities. Work commenced, and by late spring of 1965 the immense project was nearing completion.

Today, more than 40 years since its opening day on that hot, humid Sunday in July, Raceway Park has grown into a 500-plus acre, multi-functional motorsports entertainment venue. We now feature two drag strips (1/4 mile and 1/8 mile), three motocross tracks, a 1.3 mile road course track, competition kart racing track, autocross, ride & drive site, airport and more. In addition to the many NHRA-sanctioned drag racing events we host, including the NHRA SuperNationals, Raceway Park also presents a full schedule of motorsport events that run from March through November. Some of these include motocross racing, ATV racing, Quad racing, motorcycle drag racing, our annual Englishtown Swap Meet & Auto Show, and the largest monster truck shows in NJ.

It’s all about family oriented things to do in NJ!

Englishtown’s Raceway Park has proudly become one of the premier destinations for family activities in New Jersey, and we’ve scheduled an entire series of events to accommodate the ever-growing number of Moms, Dads, and kids that choose to take New Jersey day trips to our facility. We call these events “Fast Family Fun,” and it offers some of the most exciting things to do in New Jersey for kids and adults alike in a family-friendly motorsports carnival atmosphere.

Featuring some of the nation’s top drivers, Fast Family Fun offers the chance to get autographs and have pictures taken with favorite cartoon characters, and—of course—a night of high-powered drag racing with everything from Funny Cars and Nitro-Powered Motorcycles, to the always unpredictable Pro-Modifieds, Jet Cars, and Wheelstanders, all tearing down the quarter-mile!

Englishtown’s Raceway Park is currently owned and managed by the third generation of Napp family members. Like their grandfathers, fathers, and uncles before them, they look forward to a bright future. The Napp family is dedicated to continued growth and improvement by providing championship drag racing events and exciting things to do in New Jersey for both hard core racing enthusiasts and those looking for family fun activities.
