New Years Racing Party Like No Other; DRC Hangover 100
(12/7/2010) This time of the year most people are wonder how to get the best deal on presents for their loved ones, but in the southern ohio area local racing junkies have their sights set on being crowned the champion of the 3rd annual DRC.net Hangover 100!
The Hangover 100 started in 2008. On Jan 1st of 2008 the local enduro racers set out in some of the coldest weather ever raced in. The Dirt Racing Connection came on board as the name sponsor in 2009 and for the past two years has promoted the Hangover 100 on their web site thedrc.net, your home for local grass roots racing. The DRC's founder and manager Jody Shannon says " I hope for the biggest one yet. We have promoted like crazy and have gotten tons of drivers building cars."
If you have never been to an enduro there is one thing you should know, it gets wild on the track. " You got snow flyin around, cars spinin every where, Jack Frost comin down on ya, its just one big fun mess " says Jody Shannon who is also a long time fan of the enduros. To sum up an enduro shortly it is just a race with no yellow flags! Lots of fans like the crashes so if you are one of them an enduro is for you. We only stop the race when someone is upside down or on fire so it is all out for 100 laps. We do run 50 laps going counter-clockwise around the track then stop the remaining cars, turn them around, and run the remaining 50 laps clock-wise!
The 2011 3rd annual DRC Hangover 100 will be held on Jan 1st again and $500 to win! The DRC Crew will be on hand taking video of the action. The General Admission to watch the race is only $10! Pit Gate and car registration is $25. The Pit Gate Opens at 11 A.M and General Admission opens at noon. The Action starts at 1 P.M. If you are thinking about building a car you still have time. Just Check out our rules page for all the regulations ( Its simple there are only 18 Rules ). If you wish to sponsor this race or the DRC.net just contact Jody Shannon.
