Mechanicsburg As part of the Friday, September 2 Gary Beam Tribute Race for 410 sprints at Williams Grove Speedway, the car’s most prolific pilot Todd Shaffer of Millerstown will be signing autographs in the infield prior to the event.

Known as “Mr. Excitement,” Shaffer garnered Gary Beam and his wife Patty a trio of track titles at Williams Grove Speedway in 1995, 2007 and in 2009 to go along with a total.

Shaffer has been retired from the sport for several years but will return to the track on Friday for the special event.

Time trials will be used to set the sprint car lineups for the night.

The 358 late models will join the 410 sprints for the show with $800 posted to win the limited late model main.

Fireworks will also help kickoff the holiday weekend.
