Marion Center Speedway Strictly Stock Special Cut Short When Rain Came

(6/7/2016)

Willow Farm Campground night for Marion Center Speedway was cut short Saturday night when the rains came before the schedule could be completed.  Three of the six events for the night were completed; here are those results:
The Lias Tire Super Late Model feature went start to finish with Matt Lux in the lead.  Lux started in the outside pole position and took command of the track at the drop of the first green flag to start the race.  Lux held off top contenders Tommy Beck and Max Blair to get the victory and trip to the Integra Racing Shocks Winner’s Circle.  At the checkers Max Blair finished second to Lux and Joe Martin passed Tommy Beck for third place leaving the pole sitter Beck in fourth.  Here are the Finish Line Finals:  1) Matt Lux, 2) Max Blair, 3) Joe Martin, 4) Tommy Beck, 5) Mike Blose,        6) Doug Glessner, 7) Joe Petyak, 8) Dan Swartzlander, 9) Tom Shaffer, 10) Jayme Beck, 11) Charles Powell, Jr., 12) Billy Eash, 13) Bill Burns, 14) Tom Decker, Jr. did not start the feature.  The Lias Tire Super Late Model heat races were won by Billy Eash and Tommy Beck.
Pisano’s Personal Care Home Steel Block Limited Late Model’s feature was cut short but had completed enough laps-well past the halfway flags at 4 to go—when it started raining too much to continue the race or the rest of the evening’s schedule, that the race was concluded where the cars were running before a caution flag had stopped the progress of the race.  The caution flag had been thrown due to a collision on the track between the two front-running cars driven by Scott Stein and Cheyenne Reed.  Reed was the leader of the race from the beginning starting position and after a couple laps; Stein was on his tail to challenge for the lead.  Reed maintained the front position throughout the sixteen laps of twenty that were completed and was declared the winner of the race while crews cleaned up after the Reed-Stein Collision as the rain started to fall.  Here are the Top Ten  Finals of the Pisano’s Personal Care Home Steel Block Limited Late Model’s feature:                       1) Cheyenne Reed, 2) Gale Huey, 3) Wendell Pinckney, 4) Sam Gindlesperger, 5) Keith Witherite,  6) Vern Ward, 7) Dave Buchanan, 8) Tom Jobe, 9) Dan Boyd, 10) Kadden Smith.  The Pisano’s Personal Care Home Steel Block Limited Late Model heat races were won by Kadden Smith, Gale Huey and Cheyenne Reed.
The Pro-Stocks, formerly the Street Stocks are back once again at Marion Center Speedway and this week Andrew Gordon was the winner of the feature as he was filling the driver’s seat that Tony Brown usually occupied in the 911 car.  Starting fourth in the ten car field, Gordon worked his way into the lead just after the halfway flags were displayed. Gordon held the lead the rest of the race and held off the advances of Rich Waltman to take “the checkers.”  The Pro-Stock Finish Line Finals are: 1) Andrew Gordon, 2) Rich Waltman, 3) Gary Furman, Jr., 4) John Hartman, 5) Tyler Dietz, 6) Sadie Siegel-DNF, 7) Mike Bordt-DNF, 8) Mike Mellot- DNF, 9) Sam McAdams-DNF, 10) Tony Iarrapino-DNF.  Andrew Gordon also won the Pro-Stock heat race.
In the Texas Auto Ranch Front Wheel Drive 4 & 6 Cylinder heat race the winner was Zack Wissinger.  Jim Hamilton and Rich Waltman, Jr. won the Willow Farm Campground Strictly Stock heats and Evan Taylor was the winner of the W. G. Satterlee & Sons E-Mod heat race.
Marion Center Speedway would like to congratulate all of the recent graduates and acknowledge Dillon Smith and Rich Waltman, Jr. who drive in the Willow Farm Campground Strictly Stock division for their success in completing their high school academic requirements—They Graduated!  Good Luck in your future endeavors.

Drivers please note there’s been a change to your “Check in Procedure”- No one will be permitted to draw for position without the car being there at the pit gate when the draw is made.  No walk-ups to get your “pill”- when the car is at the gate you can then get your starting position.
