Millstream Speedway Continues “Bulldog Strong” for All Star Weekend
Findlay, OH – The last time the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series signed in to Millstream Speedway, rain ended the evening prematurely. The unfinished business went beyond just the disappointment of not seeing a full program of sprint cars on the speedy half mile. Rain also interrupted race fans’ opportunity to help Kevin Swindell, nicknamed “the Bulldog,” who was severely injured in last month’s Knoxville Nationals sprint car event.
Millstream Speedway and the Hoserville, Ohio fan organization, are teaming up again for a continuation of “Bulldog Strong Day” this Sunday, September 27. A long list of silent auction items, now bolstered by several new items recently donated, carries over from the last event, while more items will be auctioned live. Though the last event was shortened by rain, over $1,000 has already been raised. With this week’s event, Millstream hopes to more than double that amount to help out the young and talented Swindell, son of sprint car legend Sammy Swindell.
We almost forgot…there’s going to be some great racing this Sunday, too! The All Start Circuit of Champions returns for their final Millstream Speedway appearance of 2015, paying $5,000 to win the main event, joined by 305 sprints paying $750. The stock car racing community will celebrate the life and career of a great local racer we lost recently, with the running of the Ron Jenkins Memorial. Jenkins, a former Millstream track champion who lost his life recently in a motorcycle accident, will be remembered with a stock car / stock truck main event paying a very impressive $1021 to win.
All gates will open this week at 3pm, with hot laps beginning at 5:30pm and race time at 6:30pm. As always, early arrivers will be entertained by a race car display, driver photos and autographs, and trivia and games for prizes.
