UPIR Champions Will Race under the Super Moon

(8/28/2015) EMP is sponsoring the final points race at Upper Peninsula International Raceway on August 29. With the Super Moon shining there will be action packed racing as the points are close in several divisions. Avry Corrigan leads the Riverside Auto Junior Micro-Sprint division Elliot Corrigan, Joey Stankowicz, Tristan Kostreva (Crivitz, WI.), Haden Frazer and Brett Labre will be in hot pursuit of Avry. The Sportsmen Micro-Sprints are in a tight race. Gabriel Zellner (New Franken, WI.) is three points ahead of Jesse Liss. Logan Getzloff is only one point behind Liss. In the 600 Micro-Sprint division Matt Peterson holds first place with Christian Groleau, Jeff Ives and Jim Groleau within reach of the championship. Tyler Corwin, Randy DeGrave and Craig Klotz are the top three in the Bink's Coca-Cola Sport Four class. Hattie Bourdeau and Robert Bridges follow in fourth and fifth and within reach of capturing the crown. The Street Stock lead is held by Jonathan Pepin. Greg Bruce, Paul Wagner, Ron Jenshak and Ron Borchert are in contention for the championship. Lonnie Dalgord is the Modified leader. Fran Berube and Austin Cayer round out the top three with hopes of bringing home the checkers. The front gate opens at 4 PM EST with racing at 6 PM EST. Admission is family friendly at $5 (10 and under free). Concessions and adult beverages are available. No carry-ins please. Children 10 and under can register to win bikes donated by Jonathan Pepin. Thanks to the Island Resort and Casino there will be contests at intermission for fans 18 and over. Winners will receive tickets to the Ballroom Twist at the casino on September 18 or 19.
