Greatness, Kindness to be Showcased at Millstream Speedway
Findlay, OH, August 21, 2015 – It’s no secret that whenever the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series signs in the pit area, race fans know they’ll be seeing some of the best drivers to ever strap in. But the fans attending at Millstream Speedway this Sunday will be seeing something beyond just that. Defending series champion, Dale Blaney, is having a phenomenal season, with 11 ASCoC wins, including a streak of five in a row that was just broken this week. His record career series wins total stands at 126, towering over the 2nd place total of 98, held by the legendary Kenny Jacobs.
This high level of performance is all the more impressive considering the level of competition in the ASCoC this season. Blaney holds a commanding point lead over a stellar field that includes former World of Outlaws star, Cody Darrah, 4-time series champion, Chad Kemenah, 2-time champ, Greg Wilson, and 4-time champion (and former Knoxville Nationals champion), Tim Shaffer. While a tight points battle does not appear likely this year, Dale Blaney’s season (and career!) will be talked about by race fans for years to come.
Millstream Speedway will also feature an opportunity to help Kevin Swindell, who recently suffered serious injuries at Knoxville Raceway. The evening’s festivities will include fundraising efforts, with silent and live auctions of racing memorabilia. Series drivers and teams have pledged to get involved and Millstream fans are encouraged to, as well.
All gates will open this week at 3pm, with on-track action beginning a little earlier than last time, with hot laps now at 5:30pm and race time at 6:30pm.
