Engines will be roaring and fans will be cheering as the green flag drops this weekend, Saturday, July 4th at Marion Center Speedway.  This weekend MCS is celebrating the 4th of July with an Independence Day Blow Special Super Late Model Race.  This night will consist of a full racing program with 3 racing divisions (Super Late Models, Street Stocks, and Strictly Stocks), PLUS a King of the Hill for the Super Late Models.  Double features will also be run for the Street Stocks.  Also, the winner of the Super Late Model Feature Event will be guaranteed a starting position in our July 25th ULMS Super Late Model Special.  The racing action will start at 8:00 pm with the grandstand and concessions opening at 6:30pm.  Pit gate opens at 6:00pm.

Other events scheduled for the day by the Indiana Lions Club are:  Flea Market (Set up at 6:30 am – Opens at 8:00am), Pet Parade at 9:30 am, Kiddy Demo Derby at noon with Compact & Full Size Demo Derby at 1:00 pm, and Car Cruise starting at 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  There will also be a 5 K race held at the White Township Sports Complex to start the day off.  There will be food vendors and other activities for all to enjoy, so come to MCS this Saturday, July 4th, and bring the whole family for a fun 4th of July Celebration at Marion Center Speedway "The Thrill On The Hill".

All Super Late Models can participate in the King of the Hill event by pill pull for starting positions.  Pill draws will then be paired up with pill one and pill two, pill three will pill four, and so on.  Then the racing action will start with each set of cars racing for two laps.  Winner of each race will go to the infield and loser leaves the track.  This process of elimination will continue until 2 cars are left.  The last race will be a five lap race, and the winner will be “The King of the Hill".  Mike Blose won the first ever King of the Hill held this season at MCS on May 23rd.  Winner of this King of the Hill will be guaranteed a starting position in our ULMS Late Model Special scheduled for July 25th.

July 25th will be the first time ever ULMS show at Marion Center Speedway for $2,000 to win.  The ULMS is an “open tire” series for the Super Late Model Division, so any race team, running on any tire (Hoosier or American Racer), can compete in this series. The ULMS Series started in 2000 with one single event in central NY.  Since then the ULMS has built a nice little regional series over the years mainly in western Pennsylvania region.   The ULMS goal then and still today is to give the regional/weekly racer a little series that they can compete in (full time or part time), and have a realistic shot at winning.
Some of the winners of ULMS races from last season were Rob Blair, Dick Barton, and Dylan Yoder.  This series has been providing top notch racing action for the past 15 years with previous winner such as David Scott, Davey Johnson, Jared Miley, Keith Barbara, Dan Stone, Mike Knight (2x Champion), and Boom Briggs (2x Champion), just to name a few.  Also, some of MCS drivers such as Mike Blose (past ULMS winner), Ken Schaltenbrand, and Rodney Phillips has raced in several of the ULMS shows in the past.
