“Dirt Week” Opens Millstream Speedway for 2015

It will be a weekend of firsts as Millstream Speedway’s very first event under the leadership of Randy and Lisa Hammer features the very first “Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week” on Sunday, June 14.  This will be the 3rd leg of a marathon series of seven different dirt late model racing events across Ohio over the course of just 9 nights.   With series officials expecting at least 19 cars to follow the full week schedule, along with the many other dirt late models in the NW Ohio area, the potential is there for a very busy and full pit area.

Along with the featured LM dirt car division, Millstream also welcomes a stock car class with a lot of diversity.  To encourage wide-spread participation and in support of a “Run to Have Fun” format, the stock cars will be permitted to run based on the rules of their home track.  In addition, anyone running a dirt truck compliant with Attica / Fremont rules will also be permitted to participate.  The 3-division program will also be joined by the winged mini-sprints, based on Waynesfield rules.

Race fans arriving early will be treated to an open pit area from 1-4pm, accessible with only a standard general admission ticket.  Other entertainment includes a driver autograph session, driver interviews, and racing trivia contests prior to track action starting at 6pm.  Fans and teams alike are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for a local food pantry.  Items can be dropped off inside “Darrel, the Barrel,” which will be located near the spectator admission gate.

Millstream Motorsports Complex, home of Millstream Speedway, is located 3 miles west of Findlay.  Take US-224 West to TR-136, turn right, just 2 blocks to the corner of TR-136 and  TR-95.  Gates open at 1pm and hot laps begin at 6pm.  General admission is $20, Seniors (65 & older) $15, Youth 11-15 $10, and under 10 are FREE.  Please no stakes to mark the hill, use spray paint; no tape on bleachers. Up to 14" coolers, no beer carried in but can be purchased there, no glass.
