The 2015 racing season at Crisp Motorsports Park, the home of Watermelon Capital Speedway continued Saturday evening in Cordele, Georgia with a makeup event form the rained out event on April 25th. Racers and spectators in attendance witnessed great racing throughout the evening in all classes and witnessed a first time winner in a full sized stock car.
Starting the evening were the Economy Karts which saw Perry, Georgia’s Doug Sanneman scoring the win as Cochran’s Scott Stroup crossed the line in second, Chauncey’s Jessie James in third, Rue Walden of Moultrie finished fourth and Rodney Walden of Moultrie completed the top five.
Flathead/Stock Appearing Karts were next up on the racing card for the evening and Karston Thomas of Phenix City scored the victory as CR Brackett of Perry was second, Jeremy Moore of Hawkinsville was 3rd, Chuck Pittman of Macon finished fourth and Eric Bloodworth of Perry completing the top five.
The action packed Enduro division had Cobb Georgia’s Dusty Stafford scoring his first win of 2015 with Cordele’s Michael Hutto in second, John Burke of Cordele in third, Carlton Israel of Leesburg in fourth and Wesley Burke of Cordele rounding out the top five.
Super Street was next and Billy Nipper of Cordele prevailed as the winner with Cody Hale of Americus finishing second, Larry Walker of Cordele in third, Justin Duckworth of Cordele in fourth and Brian Duckworth also of Cordele completing the top five.
Outlaw Latemodels were the final feature event of the evening which had Dacula, Georgia’s Christopher Tullis scoring his first career Outlaw Latemodel victory as well as his first win in a full sized race car. Lizella’s Kyle McCallum finishing in second in the Outlaw Latemodels with Tallahassee’s Stuart Dutton finishing third and Cody Hale of Americus completing the top four.
The next event at Crisp Motorsports Park takes place this Saturday May 2nd with racing in all local classes with gates opening at 4pm, practice at 6pm and racing at 7:30pm.
