Tomah Sparta Raceway, Tomah, WI

It was a beautiful sunny day at the Tomah Sparta Raceway. Hornet Driver Josh Schaller (39s) took his victory in the Dash holding off Tuffy Myer (39m) in the 5 lap race. Myer would go on to win the Hornet Heat and Feature.

The Street Stock class did not disappoint on Sunday giving the fans three different winners. Gary Haarklau (99) of Marshfield took the Dash and Robbie Robinson (18) won the Heat race. The Street Stock feature had some wild racing action as Haarklau, Robinson and Bill Schott (02) raced bumper to bumper, door to door and once and a while bumper to door for almost all 20 laps. Bill Schott fought his way to the front and held on to take the feature checker flag.

Sportsman driver Russ Mavis (8) swept at the 2015 TSR Rust Buster last week and was on his way to do it again winning the Dash and Heat. Andy Buhrow (18) had other plans and drove his way to victory lane for his first TSR feature win of the year.

The Open Wheel Modified class has struggled to get all their cars out to the track this spring. Shawn Klapps wrecked during practice and Jay Potter was waiting on parts. Derrin Salo was involved in crashed in his Hornet car at the 2015 Rust Buster and is now on hold waiting for his Modified car and engine. Paul Brown and Chris Quinell promised the crowd from victory lane that in the Open Wheel class will have several more cars coming in the weeks to come.
