SMALL BLOCK MODIFIEDS AND VINTAGE RACE CARS SPICE UP THE MAY 9 PROGRAM AT ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY

MIDDLETOWN, NY......The popular Small-Block Modifieds will make their third 2015 appearance on Saturday, May 9 at the historic five-eighths-mile “Hard Clay” Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York. In addition, folks will get a look back to an earlier era as the Vintage Modified race cars will also be in action.

Bob McGannon won the season inaugural race for the Small-Block Modifieds, while Tim Hindley captured the feature on week two of the point season. McGannon and Hindley and two-dozen other competitors will be after the trophy, cash prize money, and the glory that comes from winning at one of the country’s oldest speedways.

The evening’s schedule includes a full racing program featuring Big-Block Modifieds, Sportsman, Small-Block Modifieds, Street Stocks, Four-Cylinder race cars, and the Vintage machines in qualifying heats and feature races. The evening’s activities are sponsored by Sparta Trucking and New York Truck Parts.

In the headline Modified division, defending champion Tim Hindley has yet to win, but he tops the point race with solid finishes. Young Anthony Perrego was victorious in the season opener, while former track champions Chuck McKee and Jeff Heotzler Sr. have also won Modified division features in early season racing.

Admission prices for the May 9 race meet remain at $14 adults, $12 seniors, and $1 for children 12 and under. The full night of racing begins promptly at 7:00 pm.

Looking ahead, a program of Modified, Small-Block Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock, and Thunder Trucks is set for Saturday, May 16. No racing is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, but action returns to the Hard Clay track on Saturday, May 30, with a dynamite lineup that includes Modifieds, Sportsman, Rookie Sportsman, Street Stocks, Thunder Trucks, Four-Cylinder Cars, and a return engagement of the CRSA Sprint Cars.
