(1/21/2015) (Stafford Springs, CT)---Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that Call Before You Dig has renewed their participation in the contingency program by presenting a $150 bonus to each SK Modified® feature winner during the 2015 season. This year will mark the 6th consecutive season that CBYD has been a contingency program partner with Stafford’s premier SK Modified® division. CBYD’s $150 bonus brings the SK Modified® feature winners check up to $1,700. In addition to their contingency program partnership, CBYD will serve as the title sponsor of the track’s Technical Inspection Zone for the ninth consecutive season of NASCAR Whelen All American Series competition. “We’re very happy to be continuing our contingency sponsorship for the SK Modified® division,” said Derek Brown, Vice President of Damage Prevention and Education for Call Before You Dig. “Stafford’s SK Modifieds® are the premier division and we view this contingency award as an award of excellence and we like to use this partnership to help remind everyone to use Call Before You Dig and the 811 number as the symbol of excellence in excavating and digging. The start of the excavation season is coming up very shortly and we encourage everyone to call 811 before starting an excavation project so that there are no accidents, injuries, or damage. We’re very happy with the exposure we’ve received as a contingency program partner at Stafford and we also enjoy being in NAPA Victory Lane each Friday night.” The biggest beneficiaries of CBYD’s contingency program partnership last season were Ryan Preece and Rowan Pennink, who between them combined to win 11 of the 17 SK Modified® features held at Stafford. Preece led the division with 6 victories while Pennink was right on his heels with 5 wins. The only other driver besides Preece and Pennink who had multiple wins last season was Keith Rocco with 2 victories. There were four drivers who each won a single feature last season: 2014 SK Modified® Track Champion Ted Christopher, Chase Dowling, Michael Gervias, Jr., and Ronnie Williams. Both Dowling and Williams were able to record feature wins as rookies and there were 7 different winners in 17 races. Call Before You Dig is a non-profit organization funded by public utility companies with facilities located in Connecticut. Call Before You Dig is a free service that provides homeowners and professional excavators an easy way to learn just what underground utilities lie within their proposed work area. 811 was created to help people know what's below and from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while working on excavation projects. 811 is a free call to make, and calling Call Before You Dig before using mechanized excavating equipment is the law in Connecticut. After 2 full working days of your call, a representative from each member utility company that may be affected by an excavation project will come to the site and mark the utility location of their underground facilities with color coded paint or flags, or call if there are no conflicts. Call Before You Dig can be found online at www.cbyd.com for more detailed information and guidance. Contractors can use the cbyd.com website to get an E-ticket, in which case they wouldn’t have to call. The E-ticket is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The first Call Before You Dig contingency bonus of the 2015 season will be up for grabs during Stafford Speedway’s 44th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler Weekend on April 24-26. Tickets for the “Greatest Race in the History of Spring” are on sale now at the Speedway Box Office. Tickets are priced at $38.50 for adult general admission tickets, $5.00 for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Reserved seating is priced at $42.00 for all ages. As always, Stafford Motor Speedway offers free parking with overnight parking available. All tickets are good for both Saturday and Sunday admission. All ticket prices include 10% CT Admission Tax.
