Local Headlines

Hope all our fans from near and far are having a great winter and holiday season! Since accounts go somewhat dormant I figured we could give ya'll something to read. As some of you know we are a club run track, the Bismarck/Mandan Stock Car Association operates Dacotah Speedway and has for 25 years. We held our elections in October and most of the board stayed the same, with the exception of our long time club President stepped aside to let some new blood step up to the plate. Brad Kadrmas one of our IMCA Modified drivers was elected to the presidents postion, and we all feel he will be a great fit.

In November our awards banquet was held, we recognize all the champions, top 10 drivers, sportsman in each division, rookie of the year in each division, driver of the year, fan of the year, and volunteer of the year. We had Jim Stannard of IMCA up to be a guest speaker, Jim's positive outlook and excitement towards our sport came through in his speech, he was very entertaining. If you are an IMCA track, and need a speaker give Jim a call and see if you can work something out. After the speaker, and awards we held a live auction with race parts purchased from Dakota Trackside and Sebo Motorsports of Minot, along with many donations from local business's and sponsors.

I am now gearing up and looking for new sponsorships, getting the schedule together, working on what promotions to run on which nights, all the things we all are working on, unless you are in Arizona and are still racing! Things are looking great for the upcoming season at Dacotah Speedway, most sponsors have already verbally agreed to come back on. We have new light poles ready to go in the ground for extra track lighting, and phase 3 of our sound system upgrade should be finished up this spring! Along with this we have a meeting in just a few days to finalize our new 5 year lease with Mandan Parks and Rec, so it looks like we will run the next 5 seasons!
