September 22, 2012 Pre-release

(9/19/2012)

The September racing action at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway continues

this Saturday, September 22nd, as we present a five division Action Event featuring the

Super Late Models, Pro-Lates, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Young Guns.

In addition, the PA Vintage Modifieds will make their second appearance of the 2012

season.

"We realize that some of our competitors travel to the higher paying events that many

speedways have during September and October; however we believe it is also

important to continue our weekly Action Events as an alternative for those teams who

choose to stay closer to home," commented Speedway Owner Matt Miley. "For the

remaining events this season we will also utilize the Open Tire Rule for the Super Lates,

Late Model Sportsman and Hobby Stocks. In addition, the Sportsman competitors will

be permitted to compete under their "home track" rules but we will not permit spoilers

for those drivers that use the wide tires. Also any carburetor will be permitted in the

Sportsman Division."

The Western PA Vintage Modified Division will make their second appearance at the

Imperial, PA oval this Saturday. The division features restored Modified cars from the

1960's and 1970's and the competitors will also have their cars on display behind the

main grandstand prior to the evening's racing action. Maryland competitor Rick Pastor

won the Series' July 14

th main event over Paul Bacchus and Al Byerly.
