"The brief shower that hit the speedway around 4:15 did not hurt the racing surface but

the steady rains that followed and seemed to be increasing in intensity forced us to

cancel the racing action," commented Speedway Owner Matt Miley. "The original

forecast had called for isolated showers but by evening that had changed. In addition,

the Sunday forecast indicated that the rain was going to increase in frequency so we felt

it was best to the cancel the racing action for the entire weekend."

The 2012 divisional champions were also crowned on Saturday. Third generation racer

Michael Norris of Sarver, PA claimed his career first championship in the Hoosier Tire

Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Model title by a mere five digits over Alex Ferree.

Eighteen year old Colton Flinner captured his second consecutive Brougher's Machine

Ship FASTRAK/Pro-Late title as he bested Kyle Lukon by 11 points.

Jake "The Snake" Simmons scored his fourth PPMS title in Sunoco Race Fuels

DIRTcar Late Model Sportsman action. It was also Simmons' second consecutive title

and his fourth in the past five years as he was once again followed by Nick Kocuba in

the second position. Joe Podolinsky picked up his first ever crown in the Miley BP Car

Wash Hobby Stock division. Podolinsky tallied six victories en-route to the title over

Chase Evans. Logan Crewl narrowly defeated defending Imperial Heights Garage

Young Guns champ Todd Weldon to capture his first championship. The two teenagers

battled each other "week in and week out" and are certainly two drivers with bright

futures ahead of them.
