Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will welcome the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series this Saturday, July 7th as the Series' will compete at the Imperial, PA oval in the fourth leg of the second annual Bully Dog "Cross the Border" Speedweek. The winner of the 25-lap feature event will take home a $1,200 paycheck.

"The Pro-Late action at PPMS has been excellent this year and we are looking forward to our PPMS regulars battling the FASTRAK Northeast drivers," commented Speedway owner Matt Miley. "We are looking forward to our competitors like Mike Pegher, Jr., Steve Beatty, Beau Glemba and Tommy Schirnhofer challenging the Series' star Max Blair, Joe Martin and Ryan Montgomery for the victory."

 

This week's pre-race activities include a performance by the US Army Field Band, "The Volunteers" from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. The band will perform near the pit steward's line-up board so that both the spectators and those in the pit area are able to enjoy the music. Fans will be permitted to bring their lawn chairs and umbrellas and listern to the performace from the grassy area between the grandstands and the front stretch track entrance prior to the evening's racing action. In addition, those in the pit area will be permitted to sit in the grassy area along the front straightaway from 5:00 to 6:00PM, to enjoy the music. The band has played in all 50 states and also performed at the New Orleans Mardi Gras, the Calgary Stampede and many fairs and festivals. It's an excellent opportunity for fans, drivers and pit crew members to enjoy two fun filled hours prior to the start of the fast and furious racing action!

 

Also speedway management will also offer a "Beat the Heat Bottled Water Sale" from 5:00 to 6:00PM as bottles of water will be priced at $1.00 each.

 

It's also the third NAPA Auto Parts Night of the 2012 racing season. Fans who present $25.00 of qualifying retail NAPA Auto Parts receipts will receive FREE Grand Admission. An Autograph Session will be held on the speedway at intermission. Fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers as well as get photos with their favorite racers.

 

The Super Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Young Guns rounding out the evening's racing action.

 

Gates for Sunday's action will open at 5:00 with racing action beginning promptly at 7:00.

 

Adult Grandstand Admission for this week's racing action is $15.00. Seniors, Ages 60 and Over, are admitted for $14.00 with Juniors, Ages 13 to 16, priced at $9.00. Admission for Children aged Six through 12 is $5.00 and Children Under Age Six will be admitted Free. In addition, all children aged Six through 12 will receive a free gift when they present their admission ticket at the PPMS Gift Shop, which now features Apparel by Denise. Pit Admission for this week's racing is $35.00.

 

In 2012, the management of Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will utilize a Sunday evening rain date in the event Mother Nature fails to cooperate with the Saturday night racing action. Times for the Sunday rain dates are as follows: Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates open at 4:00PM, Hot Laps at 5:00PM and Racing at 6:00PM.

 

Fans are also invited to bring their own refreshments however; glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. In addition, coolers are limited to 14 inches or smaller in size. Don't forget that the Checkered Flag Food Court has a great variety of delicious food like grilled chicken sandwiches, curly fries, fruit salad and cotton candy at "fan friendly prices."
