The UNOH Midwest All Star Super Sprints will visit Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Sunday, July 1st to compete in the first of four "Black Jack 21" Super Series events. The "Winged Warriors" will battle "Dirt's Monster Half Mile" in a 21-lap feature event with the winner capturing the $3,000.00 first place prize money. The Super Late Models, Pro-Lates, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Young Guns will also be in action.

"We are excited to welcome the Midwest All Star Series back to PPMS," commented Speedway Owner Matt Miley. "We are confident that our local drivers such as Ed Lynch, Jr., Danny Holtgraver and Carl Bowser along with Series' regulars Rob Chaney, Cole Duncan and Danny Smith will provide the fans with an excellent evening of racing action. In addition, we also felt it was important to include our regular Saturday night divisions and fans in this special Sunday night of racing action."

 

Western PA drivers Danny Holtgraver and Brandon Matus recently captured All Star victories during the national All Star Series' Ohio Sprint Speedweek action and both are expected to venture to the Imperial, PA oval this Sunday; in fact, Matus scored a sold sixth place finish in BOSS Wingless Sprint action last Saturday night.

 

Veteran Ed Lynch, Jr., the all-time Sprint winner at the Imperial, PA oval has claimed 15 victories at the speedway since it opened in 1979, and will definitely be ready to claim the first place prize money. Other drivers expected to be participate in the Sunday night action include Eric Williams, Andre Layfield (who scored the BOSS Wingless victory last weekend) and Travis Philo.

 

John Flinner returned to Super Late Model action last Saturday and the Zelienople, PA veteran scored a "Perfect 10" as won both his heat race and the 25 lap feature event. The popular and often controversial veteran is expected to return this week and attempt to claim his second consecutive victory in the John Johnson/Bob Castelveter owned Rocket Chassis.

 

Gates for Sunday's action will open at 4:00 with Sprint car warm-ups at 6:00. Sprint car time trials will immediately follow the warm ups. Hot laps for the Super Late Models, Pro-Lates, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Young Guns will follow the Sprint qualifying. Heat race action will begin at 7:00PM.

 

Adult Grandstand Admission for this week's racing action is $20.00. Seniors, Ages 60 and Over, are admitted for $19.00 with Juniors, Ages 13 to 16, priced at $10.00. Admission for Children aged Six through 12 is $5.00 and Children Under Age Six will be admitted Free. In addition, all children aged Six through 12 will receive a free gift when they present their admission ticket at the PPMS Gift Shop, which now features Apparel by Denise. Pit Admission for this week's racing is $35.00.

 

In 2012, the management of Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will utilize a Sunday evening rain date in the event Mother Nature fails to cooperate with the Saturday night racing action. Times for the Sunday rain dates are as

 

follows: Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates open at 4:00PM, Hot Laps at 5:00PM and Racing at 6:00PM.

 

Fans are also invited to bring their own refreshments however; glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. In addition, coolers are limited to 14 inches or smaller in size. Don't forget that the Checkered Flag Food Court has a great variety of delicious food like grilled chicken sandwiches, curly fries, fruit salad and cotton candy at "fan friendly prices."
