Volusia Speedway Park Ceases Weekly Racing, DIRTcar Nationals Still Scheduled

On Monday, October 3rd, Volusia Speedway Park promoter Wendi Underwood announced that, "With circumstances beyond our control. VSP would like to announce with a heavy heart that we have closed the doors effective Wednesday."
It's important to note though that this announcement is specific to WEEKLY RACING at Volusia and does not seem to have any impact on the annual DIRTcar Nationals event in February. Given that the track is owned by World Racing Group, who also runs the DIRTcar series as well as the World of Outlaws, that week of racing is set to continue from February 14-25th, 2017.
