Today, in North Carolina, Tony Stewart met with reporters at Stewart-Haas Racing to answer questions from NASCAR reporters. As in his prior statements and appearances, Tony continues to express his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Kevin Ward while continually recognizing the long lasting impact of the tragedy that occurred in the loss of a young racer with great potential. Tony addressed issues ranging from his reaction and seclusion in the days after the incident, his state of mind in the days/weeks to follow, and many other topics. Among other topics addressed were his presence at Stewart-Haas Racing in past weeks, his feelings about sprint car racing and his sprint car team, as well as a very candid discussion of the reactions that he heard and read from the public, the media and industry over the past seven weeks.
Editor's Note: Ultimately, we echo the sentiments of Tony in his appearance today when he stated, "it's not about picking sides, a young man lost his life..." as we continue to offer our prayers in support of everyone impacted in the tragic loss of Kevin Ward Jr.
