We are a family team consisting of myself, my wife and crewchief, Cindy and my daughter, Karlee.  We race sprint cars as a family because we enjoy the thrill of racing, the racing family, and the fans.

I grew up the son of a motorhead.  My Dad, Cecil worked for snowmobile manufacturers from Mercury to Arctic Cat to Kawasaki.  He built laydown dragbikes with snowmobiles engines in them.  One I remember in particular used a 440cc engine cut in half with a liquid cooled cylinder on it displacing 218cc.  After each 1/4 mile pass in the mid 13 second range at just under 100mph, my brother, Al and I would drain the water out and refill it.  He was 11 and I was 8 at the time.

In 1978 we started go-kart racing at Pine Island, MN raceway in the 4 cycle junior and senior classes.  I ran junior and my brother Al ran senior with the same kart our 73 Margay expert with a Tecumseh 5 horse.  We both finished 2nd in our second race out at the end of the 78 season and set our sites on 79.  We raced go-karts until 1983 when I won the Minnesota State Championship for 4 cycle juniors.

In 1984 I moved to outdoor motocross as this to get away from the constant engine rebuilds and updating to concentrate on the rider as this sport was more about the rider than equipment, in my opinion.  I learned quickly that motocross is and was the most physically demanding motorsport.  I ran the 80, 125, and Open(500cc) classes until retiring from racing them in 1988.

1989 I raced a 125 Enduro Superkart and 100cc Yamaha go-kart at Road America (4.1 mile) elkhart Lake WI, Brainerd MN, and Blackhawk Farms raceways.  This was a great time running these huge racetracks at 130mph in a laydown enduro go-kart

1990-93 I crewed for a NASCAR Late Model and ARTGO Super Late Model in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan.  I met my now wife, Cindy in 1992 while racing.

1994-1998 360 Cindy and I crewed for a sprint car team racing in MN at Arlington Raceway and Cedar Lake Speedway, WI.

1999 I bought my first sprint car and engine from Dick Trondson of Trondson Specialties.  6 races into my rookie season I was severly burned on 27% of by body, legs, forearms, hands in a crash that  sidelined my racing until 2001.

2001 started with a trip to the Dave Blaney Outlaw Driving School in Oskaloosa, IA followed up by 5 wins in IMCA competition at Redwood Falls Speedway and Arlington Raceway in Minnesota.

June 2007 brought a feature win at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI with 2 racers in the field that I have a lot of respect for, Roger Rager and Jerry Richert Jr.  They finished 6th and 2nd that night as I rode a tricky, small cushion to victory thanks to Cindy's set-up.

2008-2009 were tough years that brought damaged equipment and a shortage of funds to campaign allowing us to compete just 6 times.

2010 with the UMSS (Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series) brought an opening night feature win at the Kopellah Speedway in St. Croix Falls, WI on a 1/4 mile high banked bull-ring in April.  Rainouts washed away 8 events.  Our engine woes began in June with gasoline laden methanol fuel that claimed our one and only engine to a rear main bearing and #8 connecting rod failure.  This dealt a major blow to our season and 3rd place points position with the UMSS.  With our engine rebuilt for the balance of 2010 and ready for 2011, we were back on track in Brainerd, MN for Labor Day racing action.  Unfortunately, 10 laps on our engine resulted in another rear main bearing and #8 connecting rod failure.  A fellow racer, Shannon Eriksen borrowed us his engine to run at Minnesota's  Arlington Raceway on September 25.  We took it to a 4th place finish in the feature after running as far back as 11th with 12 laps left in the 25 lap feature.

2011 made for a year off to regroup and build a new engine.

2012 Will consist of our Daughter Karlee racing dirt oval in a clone engined go-kart.  Dave will be on track in a winged 360 Sprint Car at Arlington, MN raceway  Redwood Falls MN Speedway  St. Croix Valley WI Speedway and Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond WI

2015 Will see my go-kart racing 18 year old daughter Karlee make her deput in a RaceSaver 305 Sprint Car at Arlington Raceway.
