My name is Donald Rappleyea, Jr. I am a 31 year old healthy and energetic male. I am racing full time in the street stock division at Ransomville Speedway in the 2010 season. My auto racing experience is as follows: I started as a pit crew member on a Lancaster Speedway street stock at the age of 14 and held this position until the age of 16. During this time I learned a lot about fixing motors and setting up the handling on asphalt cars. During the ‘95 racing season, I developed a strong interest in dirt racing. I became a pit crew member on a Ransomville Speedway sportsman until halfway through the season when I bought a prostock. I ran in that division until the end of the ‘98 season. I finished 15th in the points standings with two top 5 finishes. During the ‘00 season, I ran full time in the street stock division at Ransomville Speedway and at Gasport Speedway. Opening night at Ransomville Speedway I set fast time, won my heat, and won my feature. Also toward the end of the season, prior to the last two weeks, I won back to back weeks. I was 3rd in the points standings, just 20 points out of 1st place at Ransomville Speedway when a major wreck at Gasport Speedway destroyed the race car. I finished 10th in the points standings at Ransomville Speedway and 9th in the points standings at Gasport Speedway. Between the ‘01 and ‘07 racing seasons, I stayed involved in the racing circuit. I did not own a car but, on occasion drove fellow driver’s race cars if the opportunity arose. The ‘08 season started and I had planned to run a full season. Unfortunately, half way through I had to have emergency appendix surgery. During the first half of the season races, I did capture a feature win. The ‘09 season was a breakout year in my career. Three weeks into the season, I was in victory lane. The luck continued and I was able to achieve nine consecutive top 4 finishes. The close of the season brought 2 wins, eleven top 5 finishes, and a 2nd place finish in the King of the Hill, the 100 lap biggest race of the year for the street stock division. For the 2010 season, we have big plans to take our race program to the next level obtaining the 2010 street stock championship.
