Roughing in the bump steer on Sharky. The string line is a cheap way to get close.

Getting the old car ready for some more updating.

Freshly painted rear axle housing that was recently squared. Getting a jump on next season.

I started racing back in 1984.  I ran a street stock off and on until 1989 when I sold the car.  I bought a Wissota A mod in 1990.  I raced the Fegers car until 1996 when I purchased my Champion Chassis modified.  I still have that car and raced it off and on until 1999.  I then took an eleven year break from racing when I started a new job that limited my free time.  I came back to racing in 2010 in the IMCA modified.

I took on a new job in Madison, SD and am a lot closer to many of the tracks that I race at.  It is especially closer to the IMCA tracks in this location.  Hopefully I can recover from the past year's massive cost and race a little now that the tracks are closer.

Primary Ride

2001 Hughes purpose built 3 link modified.  It has a 110" wheelbase.  The rear suspension is a swing arm style of suspension without the birdcages and rearward running bars.  It is what they used to call a swing arm car back in the day.  The car is getting better with the passage of time.  It has taken me a little while to get the handling where I like it.

Backup Ride(s)

My present backup ride is a '94 Champion Chassis modified from Enid, OK.  This is the old house car that Brice Olsen used to run.  It is currently setup as an IMCA modified with a mild 340 Chrysler in between the frame rails.  I run a direct drive 904 transmission in this car.  It has a modified 3 link rear suspension that is still competitive today.  With a little more tweaking, I think it can be a front runner again.  I found something in 2010 that really wakes up the old 3 link suspension.
