2013 was my first season driving a race car. At 55 years old and being at the track in many parts of the country to watch racing most weekends for well over 30 years, I always wanted to try driving a race car. I finally took it serious in late 2012 and started looking for a race car. I happened to find a racer that was getting out of racing and I bought all of his equipment. Car, trailer and all parts, and began preparing for my first season of racing on a dirt track in the Grand National class.

Throughout the season I finished most races inside of the top 10 and was taken to school by some of the best drivers around our area. I watched and learned how they managed to run up front and got better each week. At the end of the 2013 season I managed to finish 5th in points among 65 drivers in my class all season, and also received Rookie of the Year honors for the season.

I was taken in by another driver in the Grand National class in the beginning of the 2013 Season who included me into their race shop, and they have helped me to keep my car repaired and running all season. Without their help I wouldn't have been able to make the races each week, and to finish as well as I did all season. After learning so much on the track, I also learned even more in the pits and in the garage about the racing world and its drivers. There is much competition on the track, but once in the pits, I was amazed to find how much every driver will help any other driver that needs a hand. They are a breed of people that love the sport, and put a lot of stock in friendships with others that have the same love and passion for the sport.

The fans have also been incredible as they develop likes and dislikes for the drivers, and once a fan takes a liking to a driver, they are passionate about supporting their drivers. I'm looking forward to my 2nd season of racing in 2014 at West Siloam Speedway, with a newly built car of much greater quality. I hope that if you ever come to our Speedway, you will root for 5 Star Racing, and experience our mid western hospitality. You may find 5 Star Racing running at other local tracks as well in 2014. ei. Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina Oklahoma, or at Tri State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma, or also at Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren, Arkansas. All are great tracks with excellent food and hospitality.

Feel free to send a private message at the above link if you'd like to know more of what we are doing during our racing season in 2014. The excitement from the fans makes the racing even more exciting for the drivers as well.

5 Star Racing is a part of Anderson Racing from Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Stan Anderson drives the 23A car in the Super Stock class as well, and we would enjoy to hear from you about what you experience at the track and about our races.

The 2014 West Siloam Speedway Car Show is in the books on Sunday, 8 March 2014 and was a great experience and success. The winters are long and we always miss the friends that we saw at the track each week during the racing season. Meeting these friends again at the car show was a fun get together and to talk about all that's happened through the winter, and to see what everyone was building all winter. What a great experience to be voted as 1st pace in the Super Stock Class, and also the Best In Show of all classes!!! There were many great cars in the show and it was really cool to be amoung them in only my 2nd season in racing. Special Thanks to everyone that helped along the way and for building such a great car and for the support of so many race loving friends and fans. I can't wait for the season to start and to meet up with everyone again in 2014.

UPDATE: October 2014

5 Star racing wasn't able to get any racing in throughout the 2014 Season. I got married in May and also had many problems getting a good engine built for racing. The car has been ready but an engine was the main issue. The car WILL be ready for the 2015 Season!!

UPDATE: December 2014

Work is continuing on the 5 Star car and it will be ready for the 2015 Racing Season at Flint Creek Speedway in West Siloam Springs, OK. A new engine is in and all of the little things are left like fluids, connections of the engine to the cockpit and connections to the transmission as well as adding the lead and setting up the chassis. Making good progress. Also the 23A car of Stan Anderson is getting a new body for the coming racing season. Come see us at FCS!!!!
