Baumgardner Motor Sports was founded in 1995 with Sandy Baumgardner getting behind the wheel of a Classic Modified #4u (1930's fiberglass shelled open wheel car on a g-body frame with a 305 SBC). She was followed by Husband Tom BaumgardnerJr. a year later, who drove in the same class #24u. Tom Moved into an IMCA Modified with a Renegade Chassis and later a Big Dog Chassis still sporting the #24u. Oldest son, Tom Baumgardner III stepped into his fathers classic modified changing the number to 34u. The youngest son, Andrew Baumgardner, jumped behind the wheel of a IMCA Hobby Stock to challenge a new class for the family. Sticking with the "4u" tradition, Andrew Sports the number 44u.

I am the fourth person of my family to get behind the wheel of a stock car. Tom and Sandy are looking to get back into racing in the future and we will continue to race for many years to come.

Racing has been a part of my life for nearly 22 years. My mother and father raced. My brother raced. Now I am racing doing the same thing that has brought our family together in ways nothing else could. While we are no more disfunctional than any other family, racing has created a commonailty among us. More people and more people are saying that racing is pointless, boring, etc. But they honestly have no idea, what thrill, excitment and enjoyment there is in hurling around a track at 90-100mph. Just pure joy.
