East Lincoln Speedway to Honor Champions in Two Ways

(10/31/2010)

East Lincoln Speedway will celebrate the accomplishments of its racers in two unique ways over the next few months.

The first will be a special, private dinner with Ray Evernham for the champions in each of East Lincoln Speedway’s seven weekly divisions. This event will take place at Ray Evernham’s personal race shop & museum in Mooresville, NC on Friday, December 3 from 7:00 9:00PM. The dinner will be taken care of by East Lincoln Speedway & each champion will be allowed to bring three guests. The champions being honored will be:
-          Steve Newsome (2010 Renegade Champion)
-          Ronnie White (2010 Limited Sportsman Champion)
-          Lee Oiler (2010 Stock Four champion)
-          Randy Powell (2010 Super Stock Four Champion)
-          Darren Hasty (2010 Micro Sprint Champion)
-          Kyle Strickler (2010 Open Wheel Modified Champion)
-          Robert Poole (2010 Legend Car Champion)
The second celebration will be a special Family Fun Day & Awards Ceremony that will take place on March 19, 2011 at the racetrack prior to the annual open-practice that will kick off the 2011 racing season at East Lincoln Speedway. Both the 2010 champions & drivers who finished in the top 10 points positions in 2010 will be honored in front of family, friends & their fellow racers. In addition to the award ceremony & open practice, there will also be a cookout for the fans & drivers to talk with each other. More details about this event will be announced near the beginning of next year.
“Winning a championship is a great accomplishment & we want to honor our drivers in a special way”, said General Manager Shawn Parker. “We want to do something different from your average banquet. We want our racers & fans to have a more interactive experience.”
“The private dinner will be  special night to honor the champions & their guests, and the Family Fun Day will allow the children, spouses, friends & family of our racers to have a fun day at the racetrack celebrating what their drivers accomplished in 2010”, said track owner Bob Mack. “We want East Lincoln Speedway to be a unique racing facility for both our drivers & fans. This will be another step toward connecting our loyal race fans to their favorite drivers.”
The 2010 points fund will be distributed sometime over the next few weeks. More details will be posted on the ELS website soon.
