Lincoln Tech of East Windsor Returns to Stafford as Title Sponsor of Back 2 SK®ool Blitz on August 28

(2/25/2015) (Stafford Springs, CT)---Lincoln Tech of East Windsor will once again be a member of the family of Stafford Speedway sponsors during the 2015 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season. Lincoln Tech began their relationship with Stafford in 2010 as the title sponsor of the track’s extra distance Late Model feature event and then became the title sponsor of a Modified Racing Series event from 2011-2014. The 2015 season will see Lincoln Tech shift their sponsorship from the MRS race to the Back to SK®ool Blitz event that will take place on Friday, Aug. 28th. For this event, all kids 14 and under will be admitted free of charge if they wear a team shirt or uniform to the track that night. “This will be our 6th year as a race sponsor at Stafford, and we feel like we’re part of the family,” said Rob Wargo, Eastern Connecticut High School Admissions Reps for Lincoln Tech. “Since this event is a back to school event, it’s a perfect tie-in for us with our fall semester beginning on Sept. 28th. Every year no matter what we try to do with our race, Stafford always does what they can to help us out so kudos to the Arute family. We’ve never heard no from the track and we love coming back to the track.” As they have done in the past for their sponsored events, Lincoln Tech will present a unique trophy to the SK Modified® feature winner with a custom airbrushed automobile hood. But that’s not the only unique trophy that Lincoln Tech will present that night. “We’re definitely going to have another hood for victory lane,” said Wargo. “In addition to the hood for the SK Modified® feature winner, we’re going to try to do some airbrushed panels for the other feature winners so all the winners can go home with a special trophy that night. We’ll also have our lead airbrush instructor Karl on site doing a free airbrush demo throughout the night.” Lincoln Tech will have a special giveaway for the race fans in attendance that night as well as the special hood and panels for the feature winners. “We’ll have our BatCar there as well as a Superman Car that we’re working on,” said Wargo. “Fans can check the progress of the Superman car right on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/LTIEastWindsor. We’re planning on bringing the Lincoln Tech Corvette back to be the pace car for that night, we’ll have Lincoln Tech grab bags for the Lucky Numbers giveaway, and we’ll also be giving away Lincoln Tech drawstring bags to the first 500 fans who come through the gates that night.” In preparation for the Fall 2015 semester, Lincoln Tech will be hosting open houses on March 7 and April 11. Prospective students are asked to call Lincoln Tech at 860-627-4300 to RSVP with Rob Wargo for the open houses. Each open house starts at 9am and runs until 12noon. Students are given a tour of their prospective field, a tour of the facilities, an opportunity to check out the dormitories, and there is a Lincoln Tech Scholarship test for high school seniors. “Students separate by program, for example we send students interested in collision with a rep to tour the facilities and then they meet the instructor in the shop and they can ask any questions directly to the instructor,” said Wargo. “We also provide a financial aid overview, we touch on career services, which helps students get jobs while they’re a student, and we actually assist students getting placed upon graduation, and we have a free breakfast and lunch for the group of students. It’s a great overview for Moms and Dads to check out the school and we also offer an opportunity to take the Lincoln Tech Scholarship Test. The test is only available for high school seniors and it consists of 50 multiple choice questions and there is no time limit for the test.” From its beginnings as Lincoln Technical Institute in 1946 to its current status as one of the nation’s leading providers of career education and training, the Lincoln Group of Schools are part of Lincoln Educational Services Corporation and are committed to providing students with the quality, hands-on skills and training they need to succeed in an ever-changing employment landscape.
