Yates, Moraes, Feger and World of Outlaws Racers Are Among Insurance Leaders
JOLIET, Ill. (August 25, 2010) – Motorsports is a unique form of competition.
Unlike other sporting activities, racing events can be dangerous. Accidents can happen and all of the participants, whether on or off the track, need assistance.
Insurance coverage for drivers, race teams, car clubs, sanctioning organizations, racing schools, race tracks, karting centers and even sponsors is a necessity.
But, according to Mike Larson of Chizmark Larson Insurance, one of racing’s top insurers, insurance coverage can be disbursed for a variety of contents and liability. Coverage for off-track storage; competition vehicles, trailers and racing equipment; race shops and track buildings; as well as team premises and operations liability; race team and track owners liability, sponsors liability; disability income.
In addition, the usual coverage for life insurance, medical insurance and workers’ compensation can be rolled into any package for a motorsports organization. “With the new policies now developed for the motorsports industry, we can supply coverage from on-track competition to off-track mishaps and from a variety of liability programs to loss of structures and premises damage,” said Larson, a supporter of racing events including the World of Outlaws, NASCAR, IZOD IndyCar Series and hundreds of dirt tracks.
Larson’s motorsports division of Chizmark Larson Insurance has established a superb list of programs to assist any and all forms of racing competition as well as corporate sponsors.
Many of the top racers in North America know the value of a strong insurance program for their companies. Industry leaders such as legendary NASCAR team owner Robert Yates feels the need for racing insurance is a must.
RACING INSURANCE NOW NEEDED MORE THAN EVER
“Many people are not knowledgeable about insurance,” said Yates. “They do not understand why they should obtain insurance. Insurance comes in many forms including life, health and automobile, and it can be purchased for nearly every financial risk including fire, theft, accident, illness and death. Those risks are the most common. Professional athletes, such as NASCAR drivers, can insure themselves against those risks.
“Unfortunately, I have witnessed many accidents, on and off the track during my racing career. Without some type of insurance protection, a major accident, fire or illness could cause anyone into financial ruin. Having protection against major risks will give you security and peace of mind. I recommend it to everyone.”
And Yates is one of many racing executives who believe excellent coverage can keep the racing world in primary position as a sporting leader.
“Robert has been a strong proponent for the proper insurance coverage in racing,” said Larson, who also assists young racers such as IndyCar Series star Mario Moraes, Outlaw dirt late model sensation Jason Feger and aspiring young talent Chris Hudspeth. “We are now able to offer much more insurance in motorsports than ever before. We just have to get the information to the racers, teams, tracks, sponsors and other racing organizations.”
Even a young star as Moraes, at only age 21, knows he must be have the best insurance package possible when traveling at speed over 230 miles per hour.
“Mike Larson has been a big assistance to me in my racing career,” said Moraes, who drives the No. 32 KV Racing Technology Honda/Dallara/.Firestone entry in the 17-race IZOD IndyCar Series. “Mike and his company understand the needs of the racing driver as well as other racing properties. He has become a leader in this form of insurance and I am very happy to have his firm helping me with the proper coverage.”
Feger, a star in the popular Late Model dirt competition, is another racer utilizing Chizmark Larson Insurance Agency’s expertise in coverage of him as a driver as well as his racing team’s assets and headquarters.
“Chizmark Larson has been very important for my team and dirt racing in general,’ said Feger. “Our sport needs this kind of coverage to continue at a top level. It is a must for everyone. I would recommend it to all in racing.
