Racing Ramps Up as More Fans Seek More Racing!

(2/10/2013)

If the level of racing interest in January is any indication, then anticipation for the 2013 race season across the United States may be at a level that hasn't been seen in years!

As the NASCAR race weeks at Daytona International Speedway, DirtCar Nationals at Volusia Speedway and Winter Nationals at East Bay Raceway Park bring the unofficial start to the racing season across the nation, more race fans are looking for more racing across the United States!

The 2013 race season is off to a fast start with 30% more race fans using the RacingIn.com Race Track Directory to look for race tracks in January of 2013 than did in January of 2012.  Not only was there a nearly 1/3 increase in the use of the track directory, but 42% more race fans used state specific Race Track Locator Maps as a tool to help plan out their travels!

Where are Fans Looking For Great Racing?

It comes as no surprise that race fans are looking for racing in Florida (33% increase over 2012), but the number of fans looking for racing in Arizona (up 175%), Pennsylvania (up 91%) and Indiana (up 71%) all give an indication that it's not just about what's happening in Florida in February that has people excited.  It's a true sense of anticipation of what will unfold at tracks all across the United States in 2013.

What Tracks Are The Hottest?

With the World Series of Stock Car Racing set to open on Valentine's Day, it's no surprise that for the second year in a row, the most viewed race track profile at RacingIn.com in January was New Smyrna Speedway.  After all, when it comes to asphalt short-track racing, this event is as anticipated by grass roots asphalt racing fans as the Daytona 500 is by NASCAR fans.

As dirt track racing takes center stage at Volusia and East Bay though, it's also no surprise that the 2nd most searched for track is a dirt one, specifically Screven Motor Speedway, a 3/8 mile clay oval in Sylvania, GA.  This gives even more evidence that the number of people looking for local dirt racing is growing as the number of people searching for dirt tracks in January of 2013 is up 36% from January of 2012.  If there was ever a clear reason why NASCAR decided to run the Camping World Truck Series at Eldora Speedway, this surge in interest in dirt track racing is surely it!

Looking Forward to 2013

As more fans look for more race tracks, it seems obvious that the 2013 Race Season has the potential to be one of the best in recent years for race tracks across the United States!
